State Assessment Opt Out Information
Posted on 01/29/2020
Brush RE-2J values the partnership we have with parents in educating students. Parents (or legal guardians) have the right to excuse their student out of specific standardized assessments, which in their determination are not in the best interests of the student. Recently, the State Board of Education has taken action to once again make changes to the way in which our students and schools are evaluated and rated. The Brush School District has concerns and we question the benefits of the time currently devoted to the tests and whether such time would be better spent on continuing instruction. We have included the form by which you can exercise your right to “OPT” for your child not to take the state tests. Click here for more info.  READ MORE...

Safety Protocols
Posted on 01/17/2020
I wanted to take this opportunity to commend our high school administrators and thank the Brush Police Department for the handling of our recent safety situation. I know there are several rumors and falsehoods flying around so I wanted to remind everyone that we have policies and procedures that guide our actions in all events pertaining to student, staff, and community safety. Let me assure you that those were followed in this situation. Click here for more info.  READ MORE...

NEW Area for Bus Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Posted on 01/03/2020
Phase 2 of our construction project at the new Brush Secondary Campus has begun. This means that we no longer have access to the old HS building. It also requires us to relocate the BUS DROP-OFF and PICK-UP ZONE. We will no longer be using the “Southwest Lot”, nor will we use the “loading zone” along the sidewalk south of the entrance to the old HS building. Click here for more info.  READ MORE...

Superintendent Update - 11/11/2019
Posted on 11/11/2019
Dear Stakeholders, By now you may have heard, we will be moving into our new Middle School/High School building soon! We have been working with the understanding that we could move into our new school by December 19, 2019 and that by January 07, 2020 we would be able to hold classes for our students. However, due to the great teamwork, coordination and skills of our superb construction team (Adolfson Peterson, GMCN Architects, and Cooperative Strategies) we are able to move those dates ahead a month! Summer of Inconvenience
Posted on 06/05/2019
Our current building project at the High School will soon result in a new Secondary Campus and house both our MS and HS students and staff. As you may recall, we will be keeping and renovating the current competition gymnasium and most of the 2005 addition (Aux gym, wrestling room, weight room, bathrooms, 2 classrooms). The renovation work for that area has already begun and progress continues to be evident both inside and outside of the building. The downside of this progress is that the campus is, for nearly all intents and purposes, unavailable for public use this summer. Diagrams accompany this message and provide a visual of the areas involved.  READ MORE...
